Land South of Somewhere

High in the turret perched

overlooking the

Land South of Somewhere

morning brushes her face

as she peers through the misty veil

that lays over the tree shrouded mountains

she wonders about her fate

she wonders about his too

she knows they shall never speak again

for one another to hear

it was a moment

just a quick inhale

in a length of time

called a life

that living it meant only those moments

now memories left carved deep into hearts

that are woven into souls

in this land of slow drawn speech

she came quietly to seek

the reprieve she needed to heal

that she might move on

knowing memories of him

are forever carried deep

The

Land South of Somewhere

marks painful time in drops of life blood

til the sunsets after the rain

wash away some of the immediate pain

that once again she might breathe

at the least to walk down over the next hill

blue eyes

someone once said
like sapphires
yet deeper
than a mountain pool

imagine
that someone knew
he looked into them
she but a silly fool

they were
blue eyes
they were

Next Where from

What I wanted then
 was not
 what you wanted then
no amount of trying to match
was crossing the chasm
of the egos we had

Not knowing
making choices on less info
mad a bigger mess to overcome
for more than two

I wonder how to forgive the self
of others' hurt and sorrow
that they can find joy
making better days
now and tomorrow

Perfection woulda been wonderful
human is all that could be
built in flaws that raged on

Figuring I don't deserve much more
since I couldn't handle what I was given
I denied myself any companionship
coupled with that much desired
unconditional love

The epiphany that hit me
did not send me out the door
it simply left tears to fall
from a heart that tore
then scarred

There is not much more to tell
surrender to this hell
move on
give more

from where
where from

thought

perhaps it is best

if I sit quietly

say nothing

wait

hope

wish

dead

The winter in my heart

was that late fall

when your soul

did depart

ghostly memory

I knew the day you died

the last breath you took

it came right as recess began

I sat in that second grade class

staring out the window as a tear ran

then I just cried

and cried
